How to apply
You will need a work permit in order to work legally. Also, if your work extends past 3 months, you will require a resident permit.
Your employer has to meet certain criteria in order to qualify to employ a foreign worker for the job position. After meeting any necessary criteria, your employer will need to submit an application for your work permit.
If you require a resident permit, you may apply for one after being approved for your work permit (in some cases you may be able to apply at the same time as your work permit, the embassy will advise you on this).
Please contact your local swiss embassy for further information regarding application steps and forms. See: List of Swiss Embassies
A very detailed guide to Living and working in switzerland is available from the Swiss Migration Department, see: Living and Working in Switzerland
